Who We Are. Protecting What Matters.

Cambridge Cyber Security was founded to assist organisations that needed expertise to complement their internal IT team or their outsourced Managed Service Provider.

Our story

It started with a phone call

Every company begins with a simple purpose. Working in the IT services sector, ours started on the back of a random phone call asking us for urgent help. Somehow our name had popped up at one of the smaller international banks that had been compromised.

To cut a long story short, we were the quickest company to respond and managed to rescue them. This led to the foundation of Cambridge Cyber Security.

  1. The call

A compromised international bank needed urgent help, and our name came up.

  2. The rescue

We were the quickest company to respond, and we got them back on their feet.

  3. The founding

Cambridge Cyber Security was founded to complement internal IT teams and outsourced Managed Service Providers.

  4. Today

Trusted by organisations of all sizes, from small businesses to national suppliers and MOD supply chains.

01

Clear, practical security

Our vision is simple: to protect and empower organisations with our expertise, giving them confidence that their security is in trusted hands. We believe cyber security shouldn't be confusing or out of reach. It should be clear, practical, and built around people, not just technology.

02

Partnerships, not quick fixes

Over the years, we've built a reputation for honesty, transparency, and excellence. Our team combines deep technical expertise with genuine care for the people and organisations we serve. We listen first, act with integrity, and focus on creating long-term partnerships rather than quick fixes.

03

Trusted to the highest levels

Today, we're proud to work with organisations of all sizes, helping them understand their risks, strengthen their defences, and meet recognised UK standards like Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001. We are also approved to carry out security audits for Ministry of Defence (MOD) suppliers.

04

Clients treated like family

Beyond the technology, what truly defines us is our culture. We're a close-knit team that treats clients like family: supporting, guiding, and celebrating their success as our own. We believe in equality, respect, and doing what's right, always.

We don't just protect systems, we protect people, reputations, and the futures they've worked hard to build.
Because cyber security isn't just about defence; it's about confidence, partnership, and peace of mind.

Huntingdonshire Business Awards 2026

Gold at the Huntingdonshire Business Awards

Cambridge Cyber Security won Gold at the Huntingdonshire Business Awards 2026, run by Invest in Huntingdonshire on behalf of Huntingdonshire District Council.

Coming in the same year as our Gold at the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards, it is a proud moment for the whole team and recognition of the work we do for organisations across the region.

SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards 2026

Winning Gold

Cambridge Cyber Security won Gold at the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards 2026 in the category of 'Business of the Year less than 50 Employees'. This was a great accomplishment for us because the team had been working towards producing a business that delivers excellent results, and the award recognises all that hard work.

We were up against some tough competition, larger companies who had been in operation longer than us, but we were honoured to take home the gold award. Our Managing Director and Technical Director, Phil and Simon, were present to receive the award on behalf of the entire team.

We are now looking forward to the finals of the SME National Business Awards 2026 in London, in the same category. The award night is on Friday 6th November 2026 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge.

National Cyber Security Centre

NCSC Assured Service Provider

Cambridge Cyber Security has been recognised as a National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) Assured Service Provider under the Cyber Advisor scheme. With 2,165 cyber security firms in the UK (in 2025), only 94 are registered and certified as Cyber Advisors through the NCSC. Cambridge Cyber Security is one of them, and the only firm in Cambridge, putting us in the top 4% of cyber security companies in the UK.

The certification was earned through the expertise of Simon, our Technical Director, who completed the NCSC Cyber Advisor (Cyber Essentials) qualification, a rigorous 3.5-hour examination administered by The Cyber Scheme in Cheltenham.

Community

Cyber security is about protecting people

At Cambridge Cyber Security, we believe that cyber security is not just about technology. It's about protecting people, organisations, and communities.

Support

Our business was founded with a clear purpose. Too many individuals and organisations were becoming victims of cyber crime simply because they did not have access to clear guidance or practical support. Since then, we have remained committed to raising awareness and helping organisations understand how to protect themselves.

Cyber crime affects everyone, from small businesses and charities to community groups and individuals. By sharing knowledge and practical advice, we can help reduce risk and build stronger, safer communities.

Raising awareness

Many cyber incidents happen because people simply aren't aware of the risks. A small change in behaviour, such as enabling multi-factor authentication or recognising phishing attempts, can prevent serious financial and reputational damage.

By delivering talks, workshops, and practical guidance sessions, we help organisations and individuals build confidence in managing cyber risks.

Working with local organisations

We actively collaborate with local organisations and networks to deliver practical cyber security awareness sessions, focused on the real risks people face and the simple steps they can take to protect themselves. Over the years, we have worked alongside:

  • Eastern Cyber Resilience Centre
  • Chambers of Commerce
  • Local business networks
  • Community groups and charities
  • The Women's Institute

Through these events, we aim to make cyber security understandable, accessible, and relevant to everyday organisations.

Supporting the next generation

We are also committed to helping develop future cyber security talent. Through apprenticeships, mentoring, and engagement with local initiatives, we aim to support people entering the cyber security profession and strengthen the skills available within our region.

A shared responsibility

Cyber security is not something that organisations should face alone. It requires collaboration, awareness, and shared responsibility. By working together with businesses, community groups, and regional partners, we can create a safer digital environment for everyone.

Cyber Care Initiative

Protecting Businesses. Supporting Communities.

Every day, individuals, charities and community organisations are affected by online fraud, cybercrime and digital scams. That's why we've launched our Cyber Care Initiative.

Whenever someone recommends Cambridge Cyber Security and that recommendation results in a new customer, we'll make a donation to organisations that help educate, protect and support those affected by cybercrime.

We want to make a difference and would appreciate your help in making the digital world a safer place for everyone. Every new customer helps us extend that impact. Together, we're helping build stronger cyber resilience, not just for businesses, but for our wider communities too.

Why we created the initiative

Our business exists to help organisations protect themselves against cyber threats, achieve recognised certifications and improve their cyber resilience. But cybercrime doesn't stop at the workplace. Every year, thousands of individuals, families, schools and charities are affected by phishing attacks, identity theft, online fraud and other forms of cybercrime.

We believe businesses have a role to play in supporting the wider community, which is why we've chosen to give something back whenever our business grows through the trust and recommendations of others.

100% of referral donations are passed directly to charities supporting cybercrime prevention, online safety education and victims of digital crime.

How it works

  1. A customer, MSP, partner or contact recommends Cambridge Cyber Security.

  2. The introduction becomes a new customer.

  3. We make a donation through our Cyber Care Initiative.

  4. The donation supports organisations working to prevent cybercrime, educate the public, and help victims recover from online fraud.

Our commitment

For every successful referral that becomes a new customer, we will make a donation to support organisations dedicated to:

  • Preventing cybercrime and online fraud
  • Educating people about staying safe online
  • Supporting victims of cyber crime
  • Improving cyber awareness across communities

As our business grows, so does our contribution towards creating a safer digital world. Thank you for being part of the Cyber Care Initiative.

A culture of support and collaboration

Opportunities to learn and grow

Whether you are at the start of your career or bringing years of experience, we help our team develop and expand their skills. You may have the opportunity to work with:

Making a difference

Cyber security is not just a technical discipline. It is about protecting organisations, people, and communities from real-world harm.
