Strengthening Cyber Security Across the UK Defence Supply Chain
Cyber threats targeting defence organisations and their suppliers are increasing rapidly. To protect sensitive information and maintain trust within the Ministry of Defence (MOD) supply chain, the MOD has introduced the Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP) and its Defence Cyber Certification (DCC) requirements.
As an accredited DCC Level 0 and Level 1 Certification Body, Cambridge Cyber Security is authorised to assess and certify organisations that need to demonstrate they meet the necessary baseline security controls to work within the defence ecosystem.
Whether you are currently supplying the MOD or planning to bid for future contracts, achieving DCC Level 0 or Level 1 are essential steps in proving your security and safeguarding your role in the defence supply chain.

What is Defence Cyber Certification (DCC)?
The Defence Cyber Certification scheme establishes clear, mandatory security requirements for companies working with or alongside the MOD. It ensures suppliers can protect sensitive information, maintain resilience, and uphold the cyber integrity of the entire defence sector.
DCC Level 1 represents the first assured level of cyber security maturity above Level 0 and is required for suppliers supporting MOD activities where assured cyber security controls must be in place.
Certification demonstrates that your organisation has:
- Implemented essential cyber security controls
- Established effective processes for managing cyber risks
- Put measures in place to prevent common cyber threats
- Developed the capability to detect and respond to basic cyber incidents
For many defence suppliers, DCC Level 1 is a requirement for contract eligibility.
